Our first year students were getting in the spooky zone this week as we prepared for Halloween break. Continue on to read some of their scary rhymes... If you dare!
Where is Halloween?
By Sean Musgrave
The street was dead quiet
one strange Halloween eve
it was like the whole village
had already gone to sleep
Carol was the only kid left holding a fake spider on a strange Halloween eve,
filled with questions.
Carol walked through an estate
, but no one was to be seen
She had an eerie feeling since nine o’clock at night, that something ominous was following her that night.
There was no signs of
pumpkins or Halloween
decorations,
just a quiet village with fog on every street.
She turned a corner .
Her house was in sight but staring right into her soul was a tall brown figure with fully black eyes, it said in a loud, deep voice “Halloween is over now…”
On Halloween
By Lysandre Paouli
On Halloween, you see trick or treaters everywere,
People jumping to scare you out of your nowhere.
But the worst part ,spiders and rats crawling around,
And if you are scared of monsters, you better not come,
Or else you will come back horrified!
You could see zombies crawling up the street, skeletons with crackly feet, Vampires with their pointy teeth.
But don't get too close to them,
Or else you won't see your family again!
And when they come asking for sweets, Don't open the door, but lock it quickly.
You don't want to give them out to everyone, so you can have more for yourself.
But if you are nice, just give them some sweets.
And when you see a see creepy bonfire,
You know not to go out.
Because spooky spirits could be there.
So stay home, stay safe, and enjoy the pumpkins everywhere!
Midnight Madness
By Jamie Somers
On the night of Halloween
All the fireworks flew up to be seen.
All the fireworks flew around all until they hit the ground.
Trick or treaters in the town.
Some of them with a frown.
One of them wore a crown, even with it upside down!
Some got tricked and some got treats. Maybe even found some sweets!
Look at all the times we've seen on the night of Halloween.
There was witches, zombies, werewolves and all.
Some of them were too far away,
some of them were too close to say.
Halloween night will always be the same.
Trick or treaters just hope it won't rain!
Halloween Night
By Eric Erheime Hickey
Trick or treaters walk the streets while searching for many sweets.
If you go trick in the night you sure will get a fright.
A witch's broom flys through the breeze ,
while looking down at the lovely treats.
Skeletons tiptoe down the road,
almost like they're following a code.
Underneath the fleet is a spooky street where trick or treaters meet.
The black cat walks and sighs, beneath the wonderful Halloween night!
A Scary Time of Year
By Ryan Cronin
At the end of October every year,
We all dress up in our Halloween gear.
Painted faces and costumes to give you a fright,
And then we head out into the night.
Although it is dark, the moon shines bright,
The street lights brighten up the night.
Dressed up in our gear we are full of fright,
With my torch and my glowstick to give me some light.
Up to each door with our buckets in hand,
Any treats we get will suit us grand.
The laughter and screams ring out in the night,
We pass our friends and give them a fright.
In the corner of my eye thought I saw a ghost,
But it only turned out to be Pat the post.
He nearly scared us all to death,
But he was only taking his cat to the vet.
At the end of the evening we go in our front door,
Our buckets are full and our feet are sore.
A successful evening full of fright and cheer,
Can’t wait to do it all again next year.
